Most patients report minimal discomfort during and after laser treatment. We typically use local anesthesia, but the procedure itself is gentler than traditional surgery. Many patients return to normal activities the same day and require minimal, if any, pain medication afterward.

Treatment time varies depending on the extent of your gum disease. Typically, we can treat half of your mouth in one 2-3 hour appointment. Most patients complete full-mouth treatment in just two appointments, compared to multiple sessions often required with traditional surgery.
